Are Sravanthi has a sister, Are Sowjanya (10th class) and a brother, Are Sai (6th class). Their father divorced her mother, Are Suneetha, who worked as a rag picker and educated them in a private school. She died an year back.
Are Sravanthi took the responsibility of her siblings and she started working as a rag picker. She cannot afford the school fee.
One of our friends, Mr. Harsha PVSS belongs to GodavariKhani. When we brought this case to his notice, he passed the information to his parents to find the correct address and visit the school.
Meanwhile we spoke with Nagabhushanam garu, Sub-Editor, Kareem Nagar Desk, Eenadu and through him we found the details of A. Mallikarjun, the local reporter who published this case.
Even before we pass on the information, Harsha's parents found the address and went to the school. They came to know that the villagers paid for the exam fee and they can attempt exams this year. Coming to the school fee, for Sravanthi's brother, their grandparents came forward to pay the fee. For Sowjanya, Harsha's parents paid Rs. 3000.
The way the teacher spoke was something like, 'you need not worry. we will get them passed. We will see to that they get passed anyhow'.
Harsha's mother felt that it is not good standard. She was little bit concerned and told to Harsha that 'those people are spending so much money. Is that worth? The school authorities seem to be concerned only about the success in the examination but not on the standard and the character building of the children'.
Those are hard realities. But we have no other go. We thought of letting the children continue their studies.
